Xiaomi all set to launch Redmi Note 4 in January in India: Report

Xiaomi all set to launch its Redmi series successor Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in India around January as reports suggests it to be but its not sure.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was announced in China in August 2016 and the smartphone was expected to launch here soon after its availability in China. For Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 3 has been the most successful smartphone in India with the company having sold over a million devices till date.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was introduced in China with MediaTek Helio P20 SoC but the device will house Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset when it launches here because of their some sort of patent right issues of using Mediatek chips in their smartphones. The smartphone is expected to be made available in 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM options.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it. In terms of design, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 looks similar to Redmi Note 3 with chamfered edges and unibody metal casing. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone also houses a 4100mAh battery, the USP of the device.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone was announced in China at a starting price of 899 Yuan (approximately Rs 8,990) with the top variant costing 1,199 Yuan (approximately Rs 11,990).

When it launches here, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 should cost same as Redmi Note 3 and the company could either lower the price of Redmi Note 3 or discontinue the device altogether. 2016 has been a comeback year of sort for Xiaomi in India with its Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S series becoming instant hits. The company has managed to move millions of these models in the past few months and it could replicate similar success with Redmi Note 4.
