"Official" BlackBerry Neon render leaks

An image that is said to be an official render of the BlackBerry Neon, might be giving us a clue as to when we might see the handset introduced by the company. It's an old trick to be sure, but in many cases the date used on the official render will turn out to be the exact date that the phone is introduced. In this case, we could see BlackBerry's latest Android flavored handset greet the light of day on August 20th. Only problem here is that this this date turns out to be a Saturday, so we will have to wait and see what develops.
The Neon, rumored to be a re-branded Alcatel Idol 4, has the same specs as the latter device. That means it is equipped with a 5.2-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Powering the unit is the Snapdragon 617 chipset featuring an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of native storage. On back you will find a 13MP camera with a front-facing 8MP camera available to snap selfies and handle video chats. A 2610mAh battery keeps the lights on. With Quick Charge 2.0 on board, you won't be spending too much time on the sidelines waiting for the cell to power up. We could see the BlackBerry Neon priced in the area of $375 USD, with Android 6.0 installed out of the box.

BlackBerry CEO John Chen said that the company would be discussing its upcoming handsets soon and we look forward to hearing some news directly from the company.

Thanks for the tip!
