Alleged Nokia P1 Android smartphone renders leaked

Nokia has promised to reenter the smartphone market this year, and we have already come across leaks and rumors around what could be its first launch. Yet another alleged Nokia smartphone has surfaced online, called Nokia P1. As perreports, this smartphone has been developed by engineers at InFocus/Sharp, which was purchased by Foxconn.

The leaked render shows a smartphone in two colors — pink and blue — and sporting a design that is quite similar to recent Samsung smartphones. So far details are bit sketchy about this mysterious Nokia smartphone, but reports say it could be a rebranded a Sharp Aquos P1. The smartphone available in a few markets features a 5.3-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. It also comes with a 22.6-megapixel primary camera, 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support and IP58 certification.

This isn’t the first alleged Nokia smartphone to surface online. We have already come across numerous leaks around a device called the C1. The Nokia C1 will reportedly launch in two variants — one running on Android and the other running on Windows 10 Mobile. As for specifications, it is expected to come with a 5-inch HD (1280x720pixels) display, Intel’s Atom chipset, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Last year, Nokia sold its smartphone business to Microsoft, and as per the deal, it is only allowed to reenter the smartphone space in the third-quarter of this ear. Rather than manufacturing smartphones though, Nokia is roping in hardware OEMs similar to what it did with the Nokia N1 tablet. Recently the company had also signed a 10-year licensing deal with HMD Global to manufacture its products. As per the deal, Nokia will get royalty payments from HMD for the sales of Nokia-branded devices.
